As per my previous thread I am looking to get a medium college YSL and I do love the gold hardware on it. However based on previous quality issues thread I am very concerned about the wear and tear of the gold hardware.
Is your College with gold hardware the medium-sized one? I am petite (about 5'4") and was originally leaning towards the medium-sized bag but the really long strap, which is not easy to shorten, was an issue so I decided to get the large size. If I had to choose a different hardware, I'd go for antique silver. It's stunning on YSL bags. I'm not sure about the difference quality wise, I have YSL bags in both the black and antique silver and both have held up perfectly. I'd imagine the gold and silver are also excellent quality. Saint Laurent resale isn't too bad. I have a Chanel WOC and a YSL WOC. The Chanel retails at 00 and the buyout offer was only 00, while the YSL WOC retails at 50 and got a buyout offer for 00. That puts both of them right around 66%. I have the small Loulou in the exact color and the medium Envelope in black with gold hardware. I prefer the Loulou over the Envelope because it’s not as structured and holds more. Would love it even more if they removed the center zip pocket though.
